Russia Was In A Position To Delete Or Change Voter Data

CBS Face The Nation‘s host Margaret Brennan made a bombshell revelation today when reading from a bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report she said, “Russia likely targeted election infrastructure in all 50 states. The first known breach was in July 2016 in Illinois where Russian cyber actors scanned state election systems. They were in a position to delete or change voter data. The report does say some progress has been made but the threat is imperfectly understood…”

This mirrors the recent troubling revelation made by Rep Jackie Speier (D-CA) who said Russia likely tampered with our voting machines in 2016 in ways we may never know.

The idea that Russia tampered with our voting machines in 2016 is still largely treated by the mainstream media as some wild conspiracy theory yet time and again we get evidence showing that it is anything but a conspiracy–the latest being this bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report. The question as to what exactly Russia did in 2016 is one House Democrats and the mainstream media should still be digging into even though the Mueller investigation is now over

Bottom line, if we are going to successfully defend ourselves against another foreign attack on our voting infrastructure in 2020, we need to fully understand what Russia did in 2016 so that we know where our vulnerabilities lie. As it currently stands, the stance taken by House Democrats and the mainstream media is that we need to move on now that Mueller probe is over. Yours Truly strongly disagrees and believes that instead of “moving on”, now is the time we need hunker down and dig deeper into the Mueller findings for clues at to what exactly Russia did in 2016 and ways to stop them in 2020. This issue has to be front and center of mainstream media coverage as we head into 2020.

McConnell Blocking Floor Debate On Election Security Bill

In case you missed it, Dem Senator Mark Warner(VA) said on CBS Face The Nation that even after all the press coverage about Russia meddling in our elections, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is yet to schedule a floor debate on an election security bill. As Senator Warner correctly pointed out, this is the “height of irresponsibility.”

Sen Warner told host Margaret Brennan, “I would argue there are three things we can do this week when we come back. First we have to go ahead and pass bipartisan election security legislation to make sure for example that there is a paper ballot trail after every vote.” Host Margaret Brennan then interjected, “There’s been no floor time allowed” to which Sen Warner responded, “There’s been no floor time allowed.” It is Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell who decides which bills come to the Senate floor for debate.

Ever since the 2016 elections, this has been one of those troubling but recurring themes–the reluctance by both President Trump and Congressional Republicans to effectively address the well documented efforts by Russia to interfere in our elections. It is by far one of the most perplexing topics of modern American politics. Nobody in their right mind could ever have envisioned that we would come to a point where sitting members of Congress would have to be dragged/forced to act to prevent an attack on our democracy by a hostile foreign power. Sadly, this is exactly where we find ourselves today and Mitch McConnell’s inaction on a much needed election security legislation serves as exhibit A.

Bottom line, Mitch McConnell is up for reelection in 2020 and both Congressional Democrats and the mainstream media have a duty to confront him about his reluctance to have a floor debate on a desperately needed election security bill. Is Mitch McConnell/GOP counting on help from Russia in the 2020 elections? People should no longer shy away from confronting McConnell and other Congressional Republicans with these types of questions. Yours Truly has been doing just that for some time now.

How Many Beto Votes Switched To Ted Cruz?

The November elections have come and gone and as expected, they have left in their wake enough political punditry themes to go around. One theme that seems to tower above the rest however, is this quiet acknowledgement by both Democrats and Republicans that there are serious problems with our electronic voting infrastructure that need immediate attention.

This bipartisan reckoning is largely attributed to the bombshell news out of Texas that the eSlate voting machines used in Harris County and many other Texas metroplexes were somehow switching votes meant for Democrat Beto O’Rourke to GOP’s Ted Cruz on straight Democratic party votes.

As is if this was not enough, a stunning video later surfaced on Twitter showing an electronic voting machine in Indiana doing exactly what had been reported in Texas—switching Democratic party votes to GOP.

Needless to say this bombshell video about Indiana vote-switching coupled with the previous news from Texas led to serious concerns from the voting public that electronic machines may have been rigged. This is especially due to the fact that both in Texas and Indiana, it was the Dem votes that were switching to GOP and not the other way around

Somehow in spite of all these concerns from voters regarding the vote-switching issue, the Texas media appears to have shockingly accepted without any reservations this narrative contained in a Texas Secretary of State’s Advisory that said because there were “fewer than 20 reported cases” of vote-switching, this was a non-issue and that anybody questioning the magnitude and scope of the vote-switching was spreading “misinformation”. The Director of Communications for the Texas Secretary of State, Sam Taylor has repeated this narrative in interviews with various sections of the Texas Media essentially arguing that if vote-switching was a big problem, there would be much more reported cases.

This narrative by the Texas Secretary of State that vote-switching is not an issue because there were “fewer than 20 reported cases” is by all objective standards, a highly unsatisfactory answer because it does not address the elephant in the room question as to how many people using eSlate machines voted straight Democratic Party, but for whatever reason did not catch/overlooked the switch and ended up voting for Ted Cruz by mistake?

In Harris County for example where eSlates were used, Beto O’Rourke beat Ted Cruz 58 to 41.3% securing 698,580 votes to Cruz’s 498,175. This represents a total of 1,196,755 votes cast in the U.S. Senate race in Harris County. The question the media should be asking the Texas Secretary of State is how many of these 1,196,755 voters voted straight Democratic party but somehow are reflected as having voted for Ted Cruz? In other words is there a way to go back and verify that people who voted straight Democratic party did not vote for Cruz by mistake? If the answer to that is yes, then the process should be repeated in all counties that used eSlates. Then and only then can the Secretary of State say definitively that vote-switching was not an issue.

If on the other hand there is no way to go back and verify that straight Democratic party voters did not mistakenly vote for Cruz, which is the most likely scenario, then with all due respect to the Texas Secretary of State, there is simply no way he can credibly conclude that vote-switching was not an issue in the U.S. Senate race and Texans have every right to suspect otherwise without being accused of spreading “misinformation”.

Bottom line, the Texas media needs to confront the Texas Secretary of State with the million dollar question; “How many people using eSlate machines voted straight Democratic party but somehow are reflected as having voted for Ted Cruz?” Our good friend Ariella Baker-Archer perfectly summed it, saying two years from now we don’t want to look back and say “we should have checked.”

Latest Evidence Of GOP Cheating Using Rigged Voting Machines

Voting Machine Switching Dem Vote To GOP

Even before the dust has settled on the bombshell revelation that Texas electronic voting machines were switching Democrat Beto O’Rourkes votes to GOP’s Ted Cruz, a stunning new video has surfaced on Twitter purporting to show the same vote switching happening, this time in Indiana. Naturally this has elicited a lot of reaction from grassroots Democrats because like in the Texas case, the Illinois voting machines are also switching Dem votes to Republican and not the other way around.

The fact that these electronic voting machines seem to be switching only Dem votes to Republican and not vice versa takes this issue beyond the conspiracy theory phase. As Yours Truly has stated earlier, there needs to be a full investigation into these electronic voting machine “malfunctions” in order to allay the growing fear among the public that these machines are programmed to work that way–rigged.. Given the fact that Ted Cruz ended up beating Beto O’Rourke by only 2 percentage points in a contest that was supposed to be a landslide, there needs to be an investigation into how many Beto votes switched to Ted Cruz.

There is tremendous interest among grassroots Democrats in getting to the bottom of the Ted Cruz “win” given these growing concerns about voting machines.

There is no indication that the mainstream media will ever dig into Ted Cruz’s narrow “win” but grassroots Democrats should rest assured that in the coming days, weeks and months, Yours Truly will get to the bottom of it and share the findings on Twitter.

Bottom line, we cannot keep having elections where even after official results are announced, the public still has doubts about their accuracy. Election officials need to take concerns about electronic voting machines very seriously because contrary to popular belief, this is not a partisan issue. It is baffling how with all these problems we seem to have with electronic voting machines, more state election officials are not resorting to the best and readily available solution–going back to paper ballot.

Dem Harris County Clerk Should Push For Paper Ballots In 2020

Harris County Clerk elect Diane Trautman(D)

As Yours Truly has repeatedly stated, the humongous Harris County Texas(Houston and suburbs), with some 2 million registered voters is crucial to any Democrat winning statewide. The problem for Democrats has been that GOP election officials have stuffed unverifiable voting machines like eSlates in Harris County and other big Texas counties which overwhelmingly vote for Democrats. As long as Harris County and other big Texas counties continue using these paperless and unverifiable voting machines like eSlates, there will always be questions about the legitimacy of election results, especially Ted Cruz’s narrow “win” over Democrat Beto O’Rourke.

The very good news is that a Democrat Diane Trautman will be taking over as Harris County Clerk meaning she will be in charge of election machines in Harris County. This is huge for Democrats in 2020 because with Trautman as the Harris County election boss, there’s a very good chance we may see paper ballots in 2020, something election integrity advocates like Jennifer Cohn have long advocated for. Given her very encouraging campaign pledge, we have every reason to believe that Diane Trautman will work with Jennifer Cohn and others to restore the public’s confidence in our election systems.

Bottom line, although there is general disaffection among Texas Dems over the Beto O’Rourke “loss”, the reality is that Dems won big in the crucial Harris County which should serve as a springboard for further gains in 2020.

More importantly with Diane Trautman as the elections boss in Harris County, there is a very good chance we may see paper ballots in 2020, taking away the GOP’s key weapon in Texas elections—voting machine cheating!!. As for GOP using voting machines to cheat, you don’t have to take Yours Truly’s word for it, just check out the latest evidence below.

Top Voting Machine Vendor Lied About Remote Access Software

One of the leading voting machine vendors ES&S has just made a bombshell admission that they did indeed sell voting machines with remote access software to roughly 300 jurisdictions in the U.S. between 2000-2006.

Many people don’t know it, but there was a lot of controversy surrounding President George W. Bush’s election victories in 2000 and 2004, especially over how he won Ohio. This bombshell revelation by ES&S about remote access software is sure to reignite the 2000 & 2004 election controversies.

The biggest question raised by the ES&S revelation however has more to do with the 2016 elections than the 2000 & 2004 elections. The unavoidable question for ES&S now becomes, if they lied about remote access software in their machines from 2000-2006, how can they assure the public that their machines didn’t have the software in 2016, allowing the Russians to hack into them.?

Remember one of the arguments used by 2016 Russian election hacking deniers, especially GOP state Secretaries of State has been that the voting machines didn’t come with remote access software so there was no way the Russians could have penetrated them. This stunning revelation by ES&S pokes holes into that defense and should be cause for a renewed debate as to what actually happened in the 2016 elections as regards Russian hacking.

Yours Truly is particularly interested in the battleground states of MI, WI, PA & FL. Which of these 300 jurisdictions mentioned were in these battleground states?

Bottomline Dems and the mainstream media need to really get to the bottom of this bombshell ES&S revelation to find out if the Russians used ES&S remote access software to hack into voting machines and thereby alter vote tallies.

Why Is DHS Letting Local Election Officials Defend Themselves Against Russia?

A cyber security expert David Hickton recently made a startling revelation on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow show that the Department of Homeland Security is apparently letting local county election officials defend their voting systems against the threat of hacking by Putin’s Russia. Think about that folks, while most Americans think DHS is the first line of defense going out there chasing down would be Russian hackers to prevent them from interfering in midterms 2018, we now find out courtesy of Maddow that Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s DHS has in fact left local county officials to defend themselves against the powerful military grade Russian hacking capabilities–a total travesty!

This is a very serious story that deserves the utmost attention by the mainstream media and Democrats. As Maddow correctly points out in the segment, it is foolhardy to expect that local county officials will have the wherewithal to withstand a highly sophisticated Russian hacking operation,  with all due respect to local county officials.

Bottom line Dems and the mainstream media must confront DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen for leaving local county officials fend for themselves against the threat of Russian hacking when she knows or ought to know they cannot possibly fend off a highly sophisticated Russian hacking operation. Simply put Dems should demand Secretary Nielsen’s resignation if she does not make her DHS the first line of defense against Russian hacking in midterms 2018. Anything less than that would be an abdication of her sworn duty to protect the homeland against foreign threats.
